Why I love it: Emily Post, author of the 1922 book, "Etiquette," defined the tea dress as "a hybrid between a wrapper and a ball dress. It is made of rather gorgeous materials (checkü) and goes on easily (checkü), and its chief use is not for wear at the tea-table so much as for dinner alone with one's family." Luckily we're able to wear tea length skirts in public now days.
